Mid-century homes, current standards.

Much of Anaheim was built in the 1950s and 1960s, when the city grew from a small town into one of the largest in Orange County. Those single-story ranch homes are well built and worth improving, but they are now sixty years old or more, and it shows in specific places.

Roofs on these houses have often been re-covered more than once, and low-slope sections and valleys are where leaks tend to start. Original single-pane aluminum windows lose a great deal of heat and cooling. Kitchens and bathrooms frequently still run on the original galvanized supply lines and undersized electrical service.

We scope projects with that in mind, so the estimate covers what an older house is likely to need rather than discovering it halfway through. In Anaheim Hills, where homes are newer and many are in associations, we also prepare what the HOA requires before work starts.

My Anaheim home has two layers of roofing. Can you add a third?

No. Building code limits how many layers a roof can carry, and covering old roofing hides the condition of the deck. We tear off to the wood, replace what is damaged and install a complete new system.
